Design Notes
Optics
Precision Profile center-near design, with a smooth progression of power gradients from near, to intermediate, to distance, and an optic zone size chosen to work across a wide range of pupil sizes.
Geometry
On the front surface the near zone sits at the center of the dome, the intermediate zone just outside center, and the distance zone in the outer, peripheral zone.
Add
Add powers are designated LO (low), MED (medium) and HI (high).
Material
Cross-linked polyvinyl alcohol forms the bulk of the lens, with additional non-crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol floating freely in the lens matrix.
Wetting agent
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), the free polyvinyl alcohol being released from the lens at each blink.
