Balafilcon A, a copolymer of a silicone vinyl carbamate, N-vinyl-pyrrolidone, a siloxane crosslinker and a vinyl alanine wetting monomer.
Surface
Performa surface treatment, which transforms hydrophobic silicone to hydrophilic silicate.
Visibility tint
Blue, from up to 300 ppm of Reactive Blue Dye 246.
Indication
Also indicated for therapeutic use as a bandage lens for corneal protection and corneal pain relief during treatment of ocular pathologies and post-surgical conditions.
Study
Visual acuity of 20/20 or better in 87% of measurements through a 12-month continuous wear trial, among the 610 subjects who completed it.
