Ophthalmic solution, 5%, 5 mL plastic bottle
Anticholinergic; blocks the response of the iris sphincter and the accommodative muscle of the ciliary body to cholinergic stimulation, producing mydriasis and paralysis of accommodation. The label characterizes the resulting mydriasis and cycloplegia as moderately long-acting.
Warnings & Precautions
- Route restriction: Topical ophthalmic use only; not for injection.
- Keratoconus: May produce a fixed dilated pupil; weigh risk against benefit.
