Base curve
Base curves are labeled Flat, Med and Steep rather than by radius, with equivalents of 8.7, 8.4 and 8.1.
Diameter
All three base curves run a single 14.0 diameter.
Note
The Flat is minus only, -0.25 to -6.00 by 0.25 diopters, while Med and Steep run +6.00 to -6.00 by 0.25 and -6.50 to -10.00 by 0.50.
Fitting
Good movement, centration and comfort are achieved for the majority of patients with the 8.4 mm base curve, the Med equivalent.
Material
Hioxifilcon D, a non-ionic copolymer of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and glycerol methacrylate (GMA), cross-linked with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA).
Optics
Refractive index is 1.414 hydrated.
Handling tint
Blue visibility handling tint, phthalocyanato (2) - (copper).
Replacement
Prescribable for frequent or planned replacement wear with cleaning, disinfection and scheduled replacement, disinfected on a chemical system.
Packaging
Supplied sterile in a sealed blister pack of buffered normal saline, labeled with base curve, power, diameter, manufacturing lot number and expiry date.
